As part of Law Week Victoria, the Arts Law Centre of Australia, in partnership with the Victorian Arts Law Consortium, presents a series of free or low cost seminars and legal advice sessions for artists, arts organisations and other creative people.

The Victorian Arts Law Consortium is a newly formed representative body committed to ensuring the Victorian arts community has access to legal information and education. Members of the Victorian Arts Law Consortium are: Arts Access, Arts Industry Council, Arts Law Centre of Australia, Arts Management Advisory Group, Ausdance Victoria, Multicultural Arts Victoria, OPENChannel, RMIT Union Arts & Legal Service, Victorian Writers Centre.

Celebrate the launch of Arts Law Week as media personalities, lawyers, and artists debate Freedom of Expression is a Mute Point, chaired by eminent barrister and human rights activist Julian Burnside QC.

Bookings are absolutely essential for this free gala event and can be made through the Arts Law Centre of Australia.

Legal Advice Sessions

During Arts Law Week there will be a series of Legal Advice Sessions, which will provide artists an opportunity for 20 minute face to face free legal advice.

Arts Law Centre of Australia lawyers, together with local lawyers with arts expertise will be available to advise artists on a range of issues.

Bookings for these free sessions are essential.
