ARTIST IN THE BLACK - Indigenous Arts Law Week 2007:
21-25 May 2007
For Indigenous artists, organisations and interested parties
Come along and get up to date on your rights as an Indigenous Artist!
In these workshops the crew from the Arts Law Centre of Australia and their “Artists in the Black” Service will explain:
• the basics of copyright, so no one can use your artwork without your permission;
• moral rights- your rights to be recognized as the creator of your artworks and to protect the integrity of your artworks;
• Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property – a concept that looks at Indigenous cultural heritage and how to protect your artwork, songs and dances;
• the basics of negotiating contracts; and
• issues for artists working on CDEP programs.
Then Viscopy, as part of their COPYRITE! program will discuss how they can help you license your designs and make money from your art.
