Legal services
telephone legal advice service is a national service, to artists and arts organisations throughout Australia and is available on Tuesdays to Fridays, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 5pm. This is a free service.
extended legal advice service is provided to subscribers of Arts Law. An extended legal advice is provided by an in-house lawyer and is equivalent to a face-to-face legal advice night session with a panel lawyer.
legal advice nights (LAN’s) are available to subscribers of Arts Law who can attend advice nights for face-to-face or telephone consultations for up to two hours with a specialist entertainment lawyer who provide their services pro bono.
Referral services
referrals to lawyers, accountants and mediators Referrals are provided to a number of Arts Law’s panel law firms and lawyers which may be provided on reduced fee basis. In cases with special merit Arts Law may be able to arrange a pro bono advice to subscribers in addition to the Legal Advice Night service. Referrals are also provided to panel accountants and mediators who provide their services to Arts Law users at a reduced fee.
Information and education services
publications: include Art+law - our quarterly newsletter, information sheets, checklists and guides, sample contracts and seminar papers. In addition, Arts Law contributes to a range of external publications.
website: Arts Law’s website: www.artslaw.com.au contains news and information including articles, free downloadable information sheets and guides affecting all arts sectors.
lectures and seminars: legal staff research, prepare and present an extensive program of lectures, workshops, forums and seminars on a range of topical issues which affect artists and arts organisations. Arts Law also provides specialised lectures on a fee-paying basis.
Advocacy services
advocacy and policy development includesArts Law’s campaigns to reform policy and legislation affecting artists and promote best practice in the industry.
