The Classification Board is proud to host the International Ratings Conference in Sydney in 2007. A primary focus of the conference is to explore the impact an increasingly global marketplace has on film, games and other consumable entertainment media.
The Committee welcomes abstracts on the following topics:
- Relevance of community standards in a borderless and diverse world
- Defining the international business environment in the future
- Local regulations in a global environment
- Research (impacts of content; impact of format; availability of content in the new media environment; trends and experiences in banned content; use of classifications and advice by consumers; gauging community views; methodological discussions)
- Classifying new and emerging content (Internet; user developed; mobile phone; converging media; defining classification limits)
We have a number of keynote speakers including David Cooke (UK), Douglas Lowenstein (USA), Jeffery E. Brand (AUS), Gunnel Arrback (Sweden), Des Clark (AUS) and special guest speaker The Hon Philip Ruddock MP (Australia).
Social Program
A range of exciting Social Events have been planned during the Conference offering delegates the opportunity to mingle with old friends and establish new acquaintances away from the formality of the sessions.
