Launch of new Pro Bono Service, National Indigenous Art Registration Service
Earlier this week Arts Law and Gadens launched a new Pro Bono program, the National Indigenous Art Registration Service. This service will assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists in ensuring that their artworks are correctly registered under the Personal Property and Security Register.
This initiative was launched at the Gadens’ annual Celebration of Indigenous Art event on the 27th of November and attracted numerous attendees from the business, legal and art communities including Arts Law Centre Board President, Justice Margaret Beazley and Gadens’ Head of Pro Bono Jodie Wauchope.
The National Indigenous Art Registration Service invites Indigenous art centres to complete a simple registration form hosted on the Arts Law Centre’s website. The form will be then sent to Gadens who will complete all aspects of registering both the art centre and the individual artworks, and make sure that they meet all the necessary requirements of the PPSR.
