Arts Law Sample Agreement

Artist and Gallery Agreement (Long Term)

by Arts Law Centre of Australia

This sample Artist and Gallery Agreement should be used when an artist wishes to enter into a long-term relationship with a gallery that will usually act as an agent for the exhibition, sale or promotion of the artist’s works. The artist must determine to what extent the gallery will act on his/her behalf.

The sample agreement partly incorporates the concept of consignment, where the gallery is provided with works to sell on the artist’s behalf, and unsold works are returned at the end of the consignment period.

IF YOU PURCHASE A PDF VERSION, YOU MUST TYPE UP THE AGREEMENT AS YOU CANNOT CUT AND PAST ANY PART OF THE DOCUMENT.
