This sample Writer and Commissioner Agreement should be used when a writer is commissioned to write a piece in a visual arts context, for example a monograph or a short catalogue essay for an exhibition.

If a wider use of the work is contemplated, such as communication of the work to the public (for example, broadcasting or over the Internet) or reproduction of the work in information storage and retrieval systems, a more detailed contract is required. Contact Arts Law for further information.
