Workshop: Legal Basics for Creatives
Do you ever worry an ABN is something you should have, but don’t?
Do you wake in a cold sweat, having dreamt of having to draft up a contract?
Are there things you wish you knew about copyright, but are too afraid to Google?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then “Legal Basics for Creatives” is for you. Presented in a relaxed and conversational way, this two hour workshop won’t bore you stiff (bad), or turn you into a lawyer (worse). It will help to point you in the right direction, give you greater confidence to read and understand things before you sign them, and know how to talk about the business and legal end of your creative endeavors at parties in a captivating way.
After the workshop there will be confidential one on one sessions available with a lawyer.
The workshop will be presented by Arts Law Centre of Australia Senior Solicitor Suzanne Derry
Suzanne Derry is the Senior Solicitor at the Arts Law Centre of Australia, where she has worked for over 10 years. Suzanne has worked for a number of community legal centres and a boutique entertainment law practice. Suzanne provides legal advice on a copyright, contract, defamation, debt and business structures.
