Fake Art Harms Culture
Dear Prime Minister,
The abundance of fake or inauthentic Aboriginal-style art and craft products available in Australia causes harm. It violates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and destroys artist’s income streams.
I want to know that we are buying ethical products like the artwork and merchandise available here at the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.
Are you going to support the Hon. Bob Katter’s Bill or other amendment to Australian Consumer Law?
Mr Katter’s Private Members Bill will lapse on
4 September, 2017
We need to know what action the Government is taking to fix this problem now.
