Urban Sculpture competition gets top marks

The call for entries for the Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture has now opened. Commencing in 2005, the Melbourne Prize provides financial and professional development opportunities for artists in the areas of Sculpture, Literature and Music on a triennial basis.

Arts Law would like to CONGRATULATE the Melbourne Prize Trust on the terms of the 2014 Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture which has received a fantastic 5 / 5 stars for fairness to artists!

After Arts Law reviewed the terms of last year’s Melbourne Prize for Music, the Trust approached Arts Law to review the terms of the Urban Sculpture competition for best practice. The Trust was very receptive to Arts Law’s feedback and amended the competition terms and conditions in line with Arts Law’s suggestions.

The competition terms:

  • acknowledge copyright remains with the artist;
  • undertake to attribute the artist at all times; and
  • ask that only finalists provide a licence for 3 years for the Trust to reproduce the sculptures for publicity and promotional purposes associated with the competition.

GREAT WORK MELBOURNE PRIZE TRUST!
