Legal Advice
Arts Law gives legal advice to artists and arts organisations all over Australia on a wide range of arts-related legal and business issues. Such matters include contracts, copyright, moral rights, trade marks, business names and structures, defamation, insurance and employment. In order to be fair to all artists who seek our services we operate on a queue system. Arts Law can only accept legal queries through our website. Submit your legal query and learn more about our legal advice services.
Our Legal Advice Service has now closed for 2018 and will re-open on Monday 14 January 2019. We apologise for any inconvenience. If you have already lodged a query, we are dealing with all queries in the order we received them.

By subscribing to Arts Law you will have access to benefits such as discounts to our education seminars and publications (including sample contracts and agreements), access to our document review service legal advice as well as invites to our subscriber only events and more. Read more about the benefits and how to subscribe.

If we are unable to offer you legal advice ourselves we can refer you to a private lawyer for assistance. We are also able to refer you to suitable accountants and insurers if that's what you need.
