Submission: Select Committee on Charity Fundraising in the 21st Century

The Australian Senate established the Select Committee on Charity Fundraising in the 21st Century to inquire and report on the current framework of fundraising regulation for charities and options for reform. We welcome the opportunity to respond to the Charity Fundraising in the 21st Century Senate Select Committee’s Terms of Reference.

Arts Law undertakes fundraising activity to amplify our services to artists across Australia. We advocate for simplified, national fundraising regulation to replace the overly complex current system where fundraising is regulated differently under the laws of each state and territory. We’ve called for a reduction in red tape to reduce administrative burden, and which would improve transparency in fundraising activities by charities and not-for-profits for the benefit of donors and the community.
