Attribution required for the All Blacks haka

The New Zealand Rugby Union team, the All Blacks, perform a specific haka called 'Ka Mate' which was composed by 18th Century Ngati Toa tribe war leader, Te Rauparaha.  On 30 August 2012 the Ngati Toa tribe and the New Zealand government signed a Deed of Settlement that proposed that, in certain circumstances, the use of haka Ka Mate must identify Te Rauparaha as the composer of Ka Mate and as a chief of the Ngati Toa tribe.

Attribution is required for:

  1. publishing haka Ka Mate for commercial purposes
  2. communicating haka Ka Mate online
  3. the public showing of any film containing haka Ka Mate
