Notice: From 1.1.2011, the Trade Practices Act 1974 (Cth) has been renamed the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) and is known as the Australian Consumer Law. Matters previously regulated by the Trade Practices Act and various State and Territory consumer laws are now governed by the Australian Consumer Law which is administered by the ACCC, state and territory consumer agencies and, in respect of financial services, by ASIC. As a result, all references to the Trade Practices Act and State and Territory fair trading legislation in Arts Law's publications should now be read as a reference to the Australian Consumer Law. Arts Law is in the process of updating its publications accordingly.
