Description
This sample Copyright Licensing Agreement should be used when a person who owns the copyright in creative content wishes to give permission to another person to use their content (whether a visual artwork, text, music, film or other content) in a particular way. This agreement is based on the assumption the creator owns the copyright in the content he or she is licensing and contains the most common terms the parties need to consider and agree on.
This sample agreement is a very general agreement that needs to be tailored to suit the needs of the specific case.? However, Arts Law already has a number of more specific sample copyright licensing agreements for particular situations and those may be more suitable. This agreement should only be used if none of the following specific templates are appropriate:
- Artwork Reproduction Licence for Film
- Commissioning Agreement: Private or Commercial Visual Artwork
- Commissioning Agreement: Public Visual Artwork
- Copyright Licence for Collecting Institutions
- Image Reproduction Licence for a Publication
- Image Reproduction Licence for Merchandise
- Indigenous Artwork Reproduction License for Fabric
- Music Licence for Film NOTE: This licence agreement can be tailored for situations other than film where a composer wishes to licence the rights in their music.
- Music Commission for Film
- Music Compilation Licence for a Community Project
- Music Studio Recording Agreement for Unsigned Artists
- Option and Purchase Agreement (for Film)
- Performer’s Release
- Workshop Participation Deed
- Writer and Commissioner Agreement
