A photographer needs a location release when intending to take photographs on private property. While the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) allows anyone to photograph a building or a model of a building, and include it in publication without infringing copyright, Arts Law still recommends that photographers have a location release for private property because it is evidence that the owner consents to the photographer?s activities. Absence of consent could mean that the photographer is liable for trespass or other things that have legal consequences. This sample Photographer?s Location Release helps to protect photographers from claims from owners of private property
